Welcome to Organization for the Physically Impaired
OPI mission is pledged to empower its members through social, educational, recreational, cultural and athletic programs to integrate them into the society at large.
About Us OPI was founded in 1996 by Jose Jimenez, who arrived in the United States from Mexico in 1990. He was afflicted with blindness by Glaucoma in 1986 and learned to speak, read and write English as a second language. Through that process, he became cognizant of the importance for other non-English speaking communities to be integrated into the mainstream American culture. Despite his condition, his passion for this belief transpired through those around him in order to effectively encourage and motivate individuals to transition tools to zest of life through sports such as golf clinics, goalball practices and tournaments; recreational activities, develop opportunities conducting various educational workshops, Community Service, Immediate Needs Transportation, White Cane Exchange, International Interchange, Counseling and Orientation programs to enable us to better serve our community.
